FULTON SCHOOL CHAMPIONS - November 2023

LEANNE SPOHN

  • Administrative Assistant, Volney Elementary
    November 2023 Fulton School Champion

"Leanne is a true Fulton School champion and Volney is so lucky to have her. She has done so much for the school rather it be organizing fun events, keeping parents informed or even if It means a little extra hug and love for a child having a tough day. I can always count on her to give my daughter the extra love and praise she may need if she is having a tough day. The first day of school was just one example. My daughter was terrified and nervous for the first day, she didn’t want to get out of the car. I walked her into the school and she asked to go see Mrs. Spohn, Mrs. Spohn greeted her with a hug and smile and held her hand to walk her to class to ensure she felt safe and loved. We are blessed to have someone who loves our children as her own in our district and who will go above to ensure they feel the love! Thanks Mrs. Spohn..."

JENNIFER FOURNIER

  • Kindergarten Teacher, Fairgrieve Elementary
    November 2023 Fulton School Champion

"She is the most caring and wonderful teacher, she loves her students and still connects with them as they continue their journey through elementary and into the JHS and HS. She has always been there for both of my children, who love to stop into her classroom just to say hi! She puts a lot of time and effort into children that need the extra care and love. She also makes children feel important!!! She is by far one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure of knowing at the FCSD..."

"I believe Jen should be considered as a Fulton School Champion... (My son) is currently in third grade, which would make 4 years of knowing her. She made a point to show love and care to not just my son that was her student but also to his siblings. She took the time to communicate with one of my children that struggles with communication. She has become someone that he considers a safe person as he has begun his kindergarten year with a different teacher. Every single day she is there waiting patiently for him to greet her. Sometimes he shares a little side hug or joke but the best thing I've witnessed was him attempting to say her name. Not everyone can understand him, but she says he has made amazing progress and encourages him each time he says it. She made a connection when others failed and continues every single day to keep the connection. She has made an impact on my whole family in several ways. My children know that she cares for them, and they can go to her if they need to for any reason..."

  • Custodian, G. Ray Bodley High School
    November 2023 Fulton School Champion

"Maria is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She is quick to make sure that all staff feels supported and welcome with what they need to get through the day. Maria makes connections with all the kids especially Spanish speaking kids who are struggling with the language barrier. She is often found in the hallways conversing with students making sure they are set for success and know that if they are in need she is their go to person. Maria is crucial in making the non-English speaking parents feel welcome and connected to our school. We are grateful and blessed to have Maria influencing our school culture and making it a welcoming place to be..."
