FULTON SCHOOL CHAMPIONS - April 2024
Jamie Ruzekowicz
-
Social Studies Teacher, G. Ray Bodley High School
April 2024 Fulton School Champion
"Jamie cares deeply about not only her student's grades, but about the nature in how she teaches them and makes sure they understand the value of what they are learning. She always listens to her students and goes out of her way to make sure every student has the tools they need to succeed. No student of hers has ever seen her being "lazy" when it comes to her students as she finds endless ways to communicate complex ideas in ways every student can understand and use. Please consider her and if you don't believe me, ask anyone and they will tell you the same..."

LAN Technician, FCSD
April 2024 Fulton School Champion
"It takes a village to make the school system run. Geoff is a huge part of that village. From fixing and updating SMART boards so that our lessons run smoothly, to helping powerwash (factory restart) student Chromebooks so that they run smoothly. When our world is ever changing and becoming more depended on technology it is extremely helpful to someone like Geoff around. Geoff will say, with a smile on his face, that he is just doing his job, but for a teacher and students alike having functioning helps our day run smoothly..."
"Alexander den Heijer once said 'Champions don’t show up to get everything they want; they show up to give everything they have.' Our District has many employees who show up everyday to give their best in a variety of ways. However someone who I feel exemplifies a champion is Geoffry Bertollini. Geoff is someone who is willing to go out of their way to help others. He is someone who takes the extra time to share his knowledge with others. Geoff is a true team player who is willing to help others with projects or even simple tasks. He is someone who is dedicated to his work and strives to do the very best he can at any task he takes on. Geoff not only embodies the spirit of a Fulton School Champion with his work ethic but also in his interpersonal relationships. He is someone who takes the time to get to know everyone. No matter how busy Geoff is he will take time out of his day to say hello and ask how you are doing. I have witnessed as he has built personal connections with the students, faculty, and parents that are genuine. When he asks how you are doing it is not just a platitude. I can remember my first day working for the School District Geoff was one of the people who went out of their way to get to know me and make me feel welcomed into my new position. He has a contagious energy that is a joy to work with. While there are many deserving employees in the School District, Geoff is someone who I personally admire for his champion spirit..."
Desiree Schepp
-
Library Media Specialist, Volney Elementary School
April 2024 Fulton School Champion
"I'd like to nominate Mrs. Schepp for all her hard work with Battle of the Books this year, especially with the pilot to engage our 1st and 2nd graders. I was fortunate enough to watch the 8 Volney competitors at the school level and was blown away by their abilities to speak and stand up in front of their peers to answer questions surrounding the 8 books they read. I was impressed not only by their commitment, but Mrs. Schepp's commitment to them by meeting regularly, sending books home with them, communicating with parents and her overall encouragement through the whole process. I could tell she shared their pride after the initial competition. When it came time for the district level competition one of the teammates was home sick an unable to attend the competition. Mrs. Schepp didn't hesitate to reach out the the parent to check in on the student and offer to have that student join their team virtually and still compete. I know that she would go the extra mile to help any of her students and our district is so lucky to have her as part of our team. I'm looking forward to watching her grow our 1st and 2nd grade teams throughout the district..."
