"I’ve often said, 'Everyone should have a Mrs. Murdoch in their lives' and I’d love to nominate her for this recognition. Mrs. Murdoch is the perfect mix of what makes a teacher amazing. She’s caring, she’s innovative, she’s approachable and she ensures every student in her room knows they’re important. Karen takes the time to truly make each child in her class, part of the “Murdoch Family”. While kids are in her class they feel supported and valued. And even after they leave, I’d bet that anyone that has been her student would consider 6th Grade with her, a formative year. Mrs. Murdoch’s love for her students doesn’t stop at the end of their 6th Grade year. She’s been known to attend graduations, games, recitals, shows and other important events in her student’s lives, and cheer them on for years to come, after they’ve moved on from Granby. Each of my daughters were lucky enough to experience Mrs. Murdoch’s classroom during their years at Granby and I know they all hold a special place in their hearts for her. "Many people of the FCSD know if they have any kind of question regarding their insurance benefits or FLEX benefits there is one person in the district that will know the answer. On a rare occasion that she does not know the answer, she quickly finds out how to solve an inquiry. Shelly is invaluable when it comes to knowing questions that anyone may have regarding insurance benefits. She is always is kind and considerate when dealing with staff and treats all staff of the FCSD as she is helping a family member. Everything she does is with love and support. I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable dedication and extraordinary commitment that Shelly consistently demonstrates in her role. "Mrs. Sheldon has gone above and beyond for my daughter. From making her feel safe from bullies to making sure that everything is going OK with her mentally due to some problems at home I cannot thank Mrs. Sheldon for her extra eyes and shoulder for Lilliana . Her communication with me has been incredible and exceeds my standards. We do not have the typical family life due to a brother with special needs so the fact that she feels safe enough to talk about her issues with Mrs. Sheldon speaks volumes.
